Having real data on the ground is a basic need on World Energy Efficiency Day

Edificio con nubes World Energy Efficiency Day is celebrated every March 5th with the aim of reflecting on and raising awareness about the importance of the rational use of resources and energy, and at Datapro we are clear that it all starts by obtaining rigorous, on-site data.

The energy transformation and distribution centers are far from where consumption takes place and the weak point in terms of energy efficiency is in the distribution networks, a huge mesh of transmission lines that is not always well sized or located, which makes maintenance and renovation difficult.

In particular, low voltage networks are the ones that allow the capillary transmission of all energies to our homes and workplaces, and the ones that will have to support the incorporation of new sources to our daily consumption.

At Datapro we have been providing field capture and digitization services for these low voltage networks for decades from the transformer stations to the junction boxes where all end users are connected, and we collaborate with energy distribution companies so that they have in their management models the reality in the field of the layout of their networks and all their technical characteristics.

In recent months we have been working on the incorporation of the digital twin of its network and thus be able to implement growth models that guarantee the suitability of the investments to be made and intelligent management models (SMART GRID) to ensure a sustainable future. Very few distributors invest in the need to know their low voltage (LV) network with all the necessary attributes and many use interpolation models and network location algorithms to avoid such investments.

In the opinion of Juan Domínguez de la Torre, General Manager of Datapro, "we have to ensure that a network as delicate as the low voltage network, on which we base our energy growth and where new generators appear every day, is perfectly identified by all its players to ensure its safety and long-term growth."
